For Immediate Release:
Some things go together like Maple Syrup and Apple Pie!? Well that is certainly the case for the hosts of Off-Track with Hinch and Rossi, Canadian James Hinchcliffe of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and America Alexander Rossi of Andretti Autosport.
For the past two years, James “The Mayor” Hinchcliffe has brought his Mayor on Air podcast to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Last year he even had the racetrack officially re-named Hinchtown, PA for race day! This year he brings a new styling to Pocono with his friend Alex Rossi, as co-hosts of the Off-Track with Hinch and Rossi podcast. The PAIN Tour will once again be hosting a live recording of their podcast, with festivities starting Saturday evening, August 18, 2018 at 6:45 PM in Club Pocono, located inside the Paddock area at Pocono Raceway next to Victory Lane and behind Pit Road. Fans wishing to attend should visit www.poconoraceway.com/schedule for more details and access information.
In 2016, the PAIN Tour invited The Mayor to record his podcast in front of a live audience of IndyCar fans. We were so excited he accepted and can’t believe that we are about to host our 3rd annual live podcast with James. Previous guests have included Josef Newgarden, Conor Daly, then Pocono Raceway President and CEO Brandon Igdalsky, Will Power (two time ABC Supply 500 mile winner), Marco Andretti, current Pocono Raceway CEO Nick Igdalsky & President Ben May. What amazing guest(s) will he bring this year? We will let you know when we know.
BUT WAIT … there’s more! We are also excited to announce that we are expanding the event this year. Rumor has it the PAIN Tour jumped into a golf cart with two kicky broads, and the next thing you know our event had an opening act. What happened on that fateful ride … we may never know?
We are thrilled to announce that Abby and Molly, co-hosts of the popular Fast Cars Fast Girls podcast, will be kicking off the festivities. Two rocking podcasts for one low price – FREE. Anyone with a Paddock pass for Saturday 8/18, is invited to attend this event free of charge. Fast Cars Fast Girls will kick off the fun, starting at 6:45 PM. Bring your coolers, bring your fun, this is sure to be the best place to spend your Saturday night in the Poconos. This event has been scheduled in conjunction with the Pocono Raceway, home of the Tricky Triangle, ahead of Sunday's Verizon IndyCar Series, ABC Supply 500.

Mayor on Air Review - August 19, 2017
HINCHTOWN, Pennsylvania – The Mayor has spoken.
Actually, a pair of truly elected Pennsylvania representatives have spoken, temporarily renaming Pocono Raceway’s infield camping area “Hinchtown” in honor of Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe. Hinchcliffe shouldn’t get too attached to his namesake, however. It stands for only 24 hours, they said. “I think we’d have to rewrite the Pennsylvania constitution to name a Canadian as a mayor for more than 24 hours,” said Doyle Heffley, a member of Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives who represents the 122nd District bordering the 2.5-mile oval track in Long Pond that hosts today’s ABC Supply 500 (2 p.m. ET, NBCSN and Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network).
Hinchtown is the fictitious community set up on the internet by Hinchcliffe, the self-proclaimed mayor. For a day, at least, Hinchtown has a home on land through the end of today’s race. “Who would have thought ‘Hinchtown’ is actually in Pennsylvania?” Hinchcliffe said. The elected officials said it’s important to support people who support their constituents. Mario Scavello, a Pennsylvania state senator, said motorsports and its tourism contribute an estimated $250 million to the local economy. Scavello represents Monroe and Northampton counties. Monroe is where the track lies; Northampton has Nazareth, which is home to the Andretti family.
“I think what (Hinchcliffe does) is great because he has all these (social media) followers,” Scavello said. “The sport needs that – more of these type of drivers because that’s how you get the young people to follow. I applaud that.”
The idea to establish Hinchtown at Pocono originated with a group of campers who attend Verizon IndyCar Series races at Pocono and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They call themselves “the PAIN Tour,” as they represent Pennsylvania and Indiana. The group started in 2002 with two members: Terry Trego and his wife and then-girlfriend, Holly, both residents of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They’ve grown to 53 campers this weekend. They also have attended Verizon IndyCar Series races in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Watkins Glen, New York. Last year, they invited Hinchcliffe to do his podcast, “The Mayor on Air,” live from their Pocono campground. The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver brought fellow drivers Josef Newgarden and Conor Daly then. This year, the live podcast returned, with Marco Andretti and Will Power joining Hinchcliffe for the fun.
“The coolest thing about this is they approached us last year,” said Hinchcliffe, who will start 12th in today’s race. “They were fans of the podcast, which is cool in its own right, and they call themselves the PAIN Tour because they are from Pennsylvania and Indiana, and they do these trips every year. “(We) thought it was a cool opportunity to connect with the fans and it really went well, so why not make it a tradition. Hopefully it’s something we can do for years to come.”

For Immediate Release:
A Canadian Mayor, along with an Australian and American Indycar driver walk into the PAIN Tour campsite at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Sounds like the start of a joke; however, this is no joke. IndyCar Series drivers James “The Mayor” Hinchcliffe of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports along with Andretti Autosport's Marco Andretti and Team Penske's Will Power plan on visiting PAIN Tour members on Saturday evening August 19, 2017 at 7:00 PM. But wait, there is more. Not only are these drivers visiting the PAIN Tour campsite at the Pocono Raceway, they will be recording an episode of the popular IndyCar podcast "The Mayor on Air". This event has been scheduled in conjunction with the Pocono Raceway and Hinchtown, ahead of Sunday's ABC Supply Co. Inc. 500.
This is the second year that the Mayor has joined the PAIN Tour to record the Mayor on Air podcast. Last years guests included current IndyCar points leader Josef Newgarden, Conor Daly, and then Pocono Raceway President and CEO Brandon Igdalsky, along with a very special appearance by producer Brian "Buzzkill" Simpson. The PAIN Tour is honored to welcome the Mayor back for a second year and look forward to what surprises he has up his sleeve for this year. Here is a link to last years show.
The Mayor on Air is an IndyCar podcast where listeners can "Get all the behind the scenes info, interviews and candid opinions from the Mayor of Hinchtown – Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe. Each week we'll feature a special guest and all the witty banter you're used to from Hinch!" The show debuted on October 8th, 2015 and has included guests such as Josef Newgarden, Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Alexander Rossi, Jay Frye and other IndyCar legends.
IndyCar racing returned to Pocono Raceway 4 years ago in 2013 and the event has grown each year. This years ABC Supply Co. Inc. 500 will feature speeds of over 220+ mph from the field of 22 drivers. The Pocono Raceway provides IndyCar fans with an exceptional racing experience. It is called the "Tricky Triangle" because of its unique design. Each turn is modeled after turns from three different racetracks. Turn One (14-degree banking) was modeled after the now defunct Trenton Speedway. Turn Two (9-degree banking) has characteristics of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Turn 3 (6-degree banking) is similar to The Milwaukee Mile. Information and tickets for the event can be found on the Pocono Raceway website.
Just announced: Along with Will and Marco, The Mayor has scheduled the Pocono Raceway CEO Nick Igdalsky & President Ben May to also be guests on the show. Four amazing guests in one show! Feel the Passion!
